Get Back in the Groove - A Simple 7 Day Challenge

As I sit here realizing we’re shifting from summer into fall, I have to admit—I’m feeling a little unsteady. You know that feeling when life finally slows down, and you suddenly notice you aren’t quite sure where you are headed next? That’s where I am right now.

These past few months, I’ve been incredibly focused on helping my daughter prepare for her big post-college move across the country. Then there’s my son—after years of being deeply involved in his health journey, I’m now watching him gain independence and confidence as he takes charge of his own supplements, meals, and appointments. It’s a different feeling, watching my kids turn into adults before my eyes.

With all these shifts and changes, It’s taking me a bit to find my footing and get on with my own things that had been put on the back burner. Things like writing my book and getting my group coaching program relaunched. I’m trying to be patient with myself, but I know that I need a big exhale before I can refocus.

So, I’ve decided to do a little challenge to get me going, and I’d love some company.

A 7 Day Habit Challenge

I love this challenge because it’s simple, there is no pressure, and it’s a great way to give yourself a (gentle) push. Here’s what to do:

Pick one habit that you know will move the needle for you this week, and maybe this entire season. It should be something that you know you can do with little effort, but that will also make you feel proud of yourself for accomplishing.

Maybe it’s…

  • Packing your lunch instead of grabbing takeout, or just bringing an afternoon snack to work.
  • Aiming for a certain number of steps per day, or it could be a time-based walking or running goal.
  • Blocking time for an important project throughout your week.

I’ve decided that I’m going to get my morning meditation happening again. I’ve been trying to focus on my movement routine to help some neck and shoulder pain that I’ve been having, but I have a feeling that I’ll be more successful if I meditate first. I think it will help my morning flow better and it will keep me from doom scrolling!

That’s it!  A little intentional action every day helps you build momentum, one repetition at a time.
